Christiana Spens is the author of several books including The Colony (Salt, May 2026), The Fear (Repeater, 2023) Shooting Hipsters: Rethinking Dissent in the Age of PR (Repeater, 2016), and The Portrayal and Punishment of Terrorists in Western Media: Playing the Villain (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). She has written for publications such as The New Statesman, The Irish Times, Literary Hub, The London Magazine, Prospect and Studio International, and sometimes works as an illustrator for Granta, NYRB, and other publishers. She holds a PhD from the University of St. Andrews in International Relations, and before that she read Philosophy at the University of Cambridge.
